Zocalo: San Cristobal´s Zocalo has been the geographical and spiritual center of the town. The Palacio Municipal stands on the west side of the Plaza while the yellow San Cristobal´s Cathedral dominates the northern side of the plaza.
Santo Domingo´s Church: It is the most beautiful church in San Cristobal; its baroque façade is of soft pink-colored stone, while the interior decoration is spectacular . The attached Dominican monastery houses a good museum with the region's best display of hand-woven textiles.
Na-Bolom Museum: It is one of the San Cristobal´s most famous attractions; the ¨House of the Jaguar¨ is a private home that turns into a museum twice daily. The photographic archives in the museum contain a detailed visual history of 50 years of common life of Mayan communities.
San Cristobal Cathedral: Built in the 16th century, painted in ochre, brown and white, with a baroque pulpit added in the 17th century.
Museum of Mayan Medicine (CEDEMM): This museum features life-size models recreating Maya healing methods, including smelling herbs and hypnotic shaman prayers.
De los Altos Museum: Contains the San Cristobal´s history with an emphasis on the indigenous people, as well as a good selection of locally produced textiles.
Del Carmen Temple: With a unique archery tower in the Moorish style, Del Carmen Temple is home of the museum of Fine Art and the El Carmen Cultural Centre.
San Cristobal Caves: These caves are located 10 km southeast San Cristobal; contains huge stalagmites.
Sumidero Canyon*: Created by the Grijalva´s river which runs northwards through it, is an inspiring canyon with dramatic cliffs of up to one kilometer high and a river of up to 100 meters deep.
