Tips and Bargaining

Mexico has a full variety of restaurants from all kind cuisine and budgets. Generally we leave tips from 10% to 15% depending on the quality and the service offered. Bargaining is a common practice in Markets and Mexican “tianguis” as method to negotiate the price. The common way to do it it´s asking: Is it the less or the lower? , “¿es lo menos?”, it becomes like a game between the buyer and the merchant in order to get the best bargain.

Banks

Mexican currency is the “peso mexicano”. Our country emits bills from $20, $50, $100, $200, $500 and $1000.
The most common money exchange is the American dollar, the one you can acquire at the main Banks: Banamex, BBVA, HSBC, and SCOTIABANK.
